The Story of the Cupcakes

Expect many more pictures tomorrow, after our bakesale extraVEGANza. Hardy har har!

The cupcakes turned out fabulously, and strangely enough, it was my first time making cupcakes, ever! VCTOTW seems intimidating at first glance (the pictures alone are enough to make a nervous baker run in fear), but it really is quite easy to make pretty and delicious treats. I especially like that you can follow a recipe, or mix-and-match different batters, fillings, and icings to make your own cupcake creation!

These cupcakes used the basic vanilla batter. Then, we made the vanilla-buttercream frosting and added crushed up Oreo bits (we wanted to replicate the delicious appearance of very non-vegan Hershey's Cookies 'n' Cream bars) and stuck an Oreo in each cupcake, for good measure.
